A quick explanation of the title
For those of you non gamers out there, let me explain. There are certain games, like Final Fantasy 11, World of Warcraft and so on that allow many, many players to go online at once and go around killing monsters together. In short, we call them MMOs. Everquest was one of the first ones to hook many many people, and it was nicknamed 'Evercrack' because it was so addictive. There is SO much to do in these games, you will never, ever, finish them. But because there is so much to do, you keep playing, because it's fun to smite monsters in a fantasy setting. Or make clothes to sell. Or go fishing. Or go exploring the huge virtual world, with friends, or on your own.
Where I come in
For just over a year I've been playing Final Fantasy 11. (or FFXI for short)
Being a big fan of the Final fantasy series I really enjoyed it, because everything was familiar and it was generally a lot of fun. A month or so back though, I decided that it was time to quit. Money restraints prevented any further play and so, it had to go. But with me now having a job 3 minutes away from home, we'll now have a fair bit more dosh. Which makes me wonder if I should go back on my decision to quit and carry on, since I'm still enjoying the game.
Hmm. It's a dilemma. Probably more financial than anything else. There is the fact that there is a new game that both me and Bexs will be playing together soon called Phantasy Star Universe, which will cost us a little each month... Meh.
Basically I'm wondering if I can get away with having both. I might see how it goes with both for a few months and if it's too much, I can always quit then. But for a gamer, it's a tough decision ot stop playing a game you've spent a year working on.
*Sigh* I guess time will tell.
