Ups and Downs at Work
This week at work has been full of odd little things. The biggest down point being that my friend Lucy heads off to Bounemouth this week, which will change things somewhat. I felt a bit out of it on Tuesday, what with all the hubub of my bosses leaving... until I found out that they hated the pub they were going to and decided to stay put. Because everyone's been rushing around organising stuff I've felt a bit out of the loop (or at least, moreso than usual). However, my boss sat down with me whilst I was on my break and told me how much all the work I'd put in over the recent months had been appreciated. Which kind of humbled me 'cos I was a bit annoyed with them that day (LoL, isn't it alays the way?)
When a Stranger calls
No, not the film. Which I have'nt seen. (Doubt I will.) Because of a shift-switching operation I got to leave work early yesterday. I'd just got onto the ever-clogged up M6 motorway when my phone went off. Not wanting to arouse the suspicion of the police, (who were behind me..gulp!) I hit the hard shoulder and answered. It was a nice lady who I'd spoken to before, from a place that I'd submitted a C.V. to a few weeks back. Basically, the last bit of the conversation ended in me getting an interview on Monday. w00t! as we gamers say. (Or if you prefer, whoohoo!) If it's any good a job, I'm going to jump for it, because it'll cut our costs down hugely. Looks like I'm gonna be praying a lot this weekend...
Hairy Men with no beards
My good buddy Bob rang me too on Tuesday. Due to the nature of his theology and youthwork course he needs someone to be a spiritual advisor, and asked if I was interested. I said yes. So I'm like, all important now. Whoa. Better crank up my spiritual life to the next level ha ha ha! Well, as scripture says we should sharpen our faiths like iron sharpens iron, so I'm guessing it will be good for both of us.
Towels
As any Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fan will tell you, a towel is THE most important thing you can take with you on a long intergalactic journey. Keeping this in mind. I have systematically washed and folded all of the towels in our house, ready for the End of the World. it had nothing to do with the fact that we'd used them all. I think the socks will be next.
