White and Nerdy

The best glass I've ever collected

Wednesday was fun day at work. It was the night of the Crossed Keys MCC meeting, and I went upstairs to collect some glasses in their clubhouse, which is a room we let them convert. Anywhoo, they'd all had a whip round and I was presented with a glass stuffed full of dosh and given a round of aplause, because they were sad to see me go. I was a bit speechless (for a change) But I was really touched by their gesture. I shall remember them in my prayers. Plus, well, I like 'em. They're a good bunch.

I AM a GEEK!

The title of todays post is because my geekiness has shot up through the roof this week. Not only did I spend 5 hours yesterday playing Monster Hunter on my PS2, but after I'd come hom from small group I bit the bullet and swapped my hard drive in my computer. Then I installed Windows. Then I swapped my hardrives again (I have 3 you know) to my current settings so I could do everyday things again. This means that on my next day off, I'll be downloading, swapping and generally customising my PC. Again. It does mean I'll have to re-install FFXI again though... which if the last time is anything to go by... WILL take all day.

Feeling good

It's been a weird week knowing that the next two shifts at work will be my last. It's scary, but I'm trying not to think about it. I'm generally feeling quite positive though. I'm not worried about making new friends or anything like that, but the uncertainty of my new job is a little unsettling. I've only ever worked in pubs, so I'm seeing this as a fresh new challenge. I'm sure God has some plans for this new chapter in my life but who knows what they are?
Still, the best thing is I'm feeling at ease with the whole thing. The only reason I spent 5 hours on Monster Hunter yesterday was because I felt all was well with the world, and I haven't felt like that in ages. Since about January I haven't been able to play games all day without a feeling that there was something that needed doing- the something was to get a new job. My To Do list now looks a little wimpy, because it's starting to fill up with everyday things, andnot big life altering decisions. Could it be that finally I live in Brum without a sense of chaos? I just hope this feeling stays, because not worrying is awesome.

Yeah, changing jobs and stuff can be kind of scary, but with God and Bex you'll be just fine. Plus you get evenings to game and watch movies, that's gotta be a good thing!
