Yup, still alive.
Been a while since I last updated this ol' blog of mine. There's been a bit of good and bad going on in my life recently, so I'll chuck em into two sections, Bitter and Sweet. Clever, eh?
Bitter
Ok, lets get the bad stuff out of the way. First of all, work. This week I've had a cold and I've felt rough. Couple that with a review on my bad performance and Boom! bad week. In fact, this very morning I was in a meeting on how to improve. Yay. It's not something I've been ignoring though. This week I actually wanted to go in and shake it up a bit, after all, I'd had a good couple of days off, (More about that later) and I'd had a rather pleasant surprise. (Again, later.) But it was not to be as I contracted that stupid bug, and so the week that was meant to be the turning point ended up being the week 'I felt rough and got told off'.
Second, I had a cold. Wait, I already told you about that. Hmm.
Next up, because of work and being ill and lots of jobs and stuff I've been doing, I haven't had any chance to update either Bandit or Journey of the Christian Gamer. Which is annoying.
I haven't been to church in weeks. Not my fault either. I can't make it because people at work are on their hols and someone has to fill in the gap, being me. Meh. It's starting to affect me a bit. I know that being a Christian isn't about going to church, but I miss my friends, the support they give, and basically it's ruining my weekly routine. I've been going to church properly since I was fifteen, nigh on 13 years or so. Not going is a bit like not eating. It's starting to make me a bit miserable if I'm honest.
Sweet!!
Ok, enough misery. Time to tell you about the good stuff. ^_^
First of all, the weekend away at the in laws went really well. As always, it was a bit of a shame to come back. I got to spend the day with my lil' niece Caitlyn at a farm, and even had a ride in a tractor. We also caught up with some friends while we were up there. Nice. Plus, before we went, I managed to completely blitz two of the rooms in the house, and fill up all those redundant rat holes.
Secondly, my pleasant surprise. My tax code was finally sorted out and I had £300 odd quid dumped into my bank account. Plus, now it's sorted there'll be a few extra coins in my pay packet, since I'm paying what I'm supposed to be now. This got me thinking a bit. Which leads to the next cool thing in my life.
I am now a Seventh Generation Gamer. Lot's of people have now gone 'Huh?'. Simply put, with my boost of cash I bought a Playstation 3. Got a decent deal on it too. I've not had it long, but I have been downloading stuff and playing games and so on. My Linkshell buddies on FFXI now understand why I've not been on this week. ;)
As for Sundays? A quick chat with my boss has sorted that. He's rearranged some of the shifts to accommodate me. Which is nice. Hopefully I'll be back to my old self again soon.
Last night me and my friends celebrated my ol' pal Ceejay's birthday. There was pizza, good company, games, and it was a whole lotta fun. Happy Birthday Ceej. It was a good night.
In Conclusion
Well, there's been highs and lows to the last week or two. I'm looking forward to next week. After all, it can hardly get worse, can it? I'm going to be spending some time sorting out all the things that bug me about my life right now. One of which is updating stuff like this. *sigh*
See y'all soon!
