A little Updatey type thing.

Huzzah! I'm back, and with another slightly wacky post about my average life. Whoohoo!

<<Rest>> <<Can I Have it?>>

The above title's comedy value will be lost on anyone who hasn't played FFXI. But needless to say, I'm feeling the need for a break! Since last posting, I've chucked myself into work with a fair bit of gusto, which seems to be paying off a little. They're chucking me onto some more training, this time for Miele, who expensive but top quality stuff. It's a trip to Oxford and free lunch at the very least. ;) If it's anywhere near as good as the last course I went on I'll be happy.
Because Christmas is around the corner somewhere (at least in a business sense I'm guessing) I've suddenly found myself doing 35 to 39 hour weeks. Not that I'm complaining, the money is good for the coming bombardment of birthdays and national holidays. But I'm quite a stickler when it comes to my free time. Well, can't win it all.

Carz

Now I have my lovely PS3 I've had to pick a new thing to stick on my "Saving up for" tin. After some consideration, I've decided the next step for the Cook family is to get a car. Partially because I hate buses, partially because all my friends and family live absolutely ruddy miles away. In fact, apart from my workplace and the local pizza place, EVERYTHING seems to be miles away. Don't even get me started on the monthly shop. Me and Bexs look like those crazy homeless folks you see in movies trying to lug a shopping trolley back to our place. Gyaaah! Therefore, Car. So far I have £30. (Or around $60 for all you lovely American folks.)

A Bitter Blow

The lovely PC that is whirring away happily as I jam letters into this blog suffered a blow this week, and so did I. The little 2gig drive I stored all my "important" stuff on made a horrible noise and refused to work. I'm no expert on Hard Drives, but I'm guessing they shouldn't squeak or make a noise like a cat being run over. From my analysis, it's innards have completely collapsed. That I wasn't too fussed about. After all, I'd nabbed it from a *very* old computer. What did make me go "AG!" was the fact that all my drawings for Astris:Bandit, and pretty much everything I've ever written into a computer were stored on that little drive. Oops. Knowing me I'll have made backups somewhere on discs, but finding all the stuff I've lost is going to take a looong time. Plus, all my college stuff and my Bandit stuff I have hard copies of, so it'll just be a case of fishing them out and re-scanning or typing or whatever. Either way, it still sucks.

Astris: Bandit

Talking of the above cartoon, a busy life has not been good for it's update schedule. What with losing my drive too I'm a wee bit loathe to update it until I have some proper spare time to do it in. After finishing this post I'll be updating the site, if only to say it won't be updated for a bit.

Trundle

Well, other than those exiting little bits, much of my life is the same old trundle. Which is not a bad thing at the moment. Usually I'm not sure I'm in the right place, but recently I've come to accept that this is where God wants me for now until the next bit comes along. Knowing me the next bit has already turned up but I failed to spot it. Good job God is patient. ;)

Well, I'll see you all again soon. ^_^
