So 10 days have flown by, and we're now solidly into 2008. So what have the Cooks been doing?
The Awareness Course
Instead of House groups during the middle of the week, my church has started to run a course called the 'Awareness Course'. It's basically a load of sessions that help us as Christians to live in a multi culture, multi religion society. It aims to help us live and work with people of other faiths but not compromise our own. So far, we're only two sessions in, but they've been quite interesting. Certainly work the trek across the city.
Journey of the Christian Gamer
...is a website I haven't touched since November, neglected much like my Astris comic. I've decided it's time to yell 'Clear!' on the site and bring it back to life, with a new look. I think I'll take a less scholarly look at things as well and just talk about gaming issues. I'm going to sit down one day soon and write down a load of topics to chuck on there. I'm thinking of turning into more of a 'gaming diary' than anything else.
Astris
Speaking of my Comic, I'll be updating that today sometime. I appear to have lost track of time a little with this, I'm supposed to have at least a few pages pencilled, but I haven't done that yet. Hmm. Well, I have a wee bit more time for that sort of thing.
Work
The crazy period has gone, at work now. I'll never get over how different their Christmas is different to the ones I was used to as a Barman. It's still a bit of a mad time, but it's a different kind of mad. But then, it's a different kind of trade. Still, I'm happy enough and I hope I can improve on last year now I appear to have got the 'hang' of things. This year I'm keen to learn some new stuff and carry on where I left off. I'm quite happy where I am at the moment, so I've no thoughts of leaving. My hours have gone down a bit too, which is a bit of a mixed blessing. Bit less cash, but more time to myself. Doesn't affect my dreams of getting a car this year though. ;)
Final Fantasy
Since I play a bit, here's what I've been up to. I did indeed, get my Airship Pass. My Linkshell has undergone a bit of a change. I'm not sure of the circumstances, but the decision was made to merge with another Linkshell to form a really big Linkshell. This new Linkshell is very similar to the last one in feel, as it's quite social, but the goal of the merger was to help create an environment to do a lot of the 'questy' aspects of FFXI. I've helped with a few myself, although the fact that most events are held midweek on American time means I miss a lot of them. Also, a lot of the stuff they're doing is mostly for higher level folks, which my little 37 Samurai is no good for.. yet. But then, I've put Samurai on the back bench for a bit because I've rediscovered an FF love of mine.
Beastmaster! I love it. It's generally regarded as the only 'solo' job in FFXI. The life of a Beastmaster is their own, no relying on parties, just you, your skill and a pet against some mean monsters. I enjoyed Beastmaster the first time around and with some recent additions to the job from Squeenix, I'm enjoying it still. It's *rapidly* catching up to Samurai because I recently hit level 30. In fact, I've levelled it up so quick, I've had to put it on hold as well!
So currently I'm levelling the sub job for Beastmaster, the White Mage. It's party based and is basically about one thing- Healing people. In a party it basically means that I make sure no one dies as we fight big scary monsters. My aim is to get it to 20, and I'm at 18 right now. Once it's at level 20, I'll be able to go back to Beastmaster and level it all the way to 40. ^_^
So, basically, that's what's going on right now. Updates later, I'm sure!

I think the Awareness Course could well be the best thing our church has ever put on. It is great and makes me proud to belong.
Glad you're enjoying ffxi, I remember when I was playing it I missed loads of the linkshell events because of the time differences.
The awareness course sounds really good, who's it written by, somebody from the church?
